The Bechdel Test | bek.dəl ˌtest/ | noun [s] | a way of judging whether a film, book, etc. shows women as equal to men, by asking whether it includes a scene in which two women discuss something other than a man.

Unless and until the representation of women in popular culture is vastly improved, reachable social and economic aspirations for women all over the world will continue to be limited by an unacceptably low (and very hard) glass ceiling.
